Stuffed / full mouth in dreams – what does that mean (dream interpretation stuffed mouth)
Dream interpretation of a stuffed/full mouth. A lot of people dream about having a mouth full of food, chewing gum or something else that makes it absolutely impossible to talk, and maybe they even experience the feeling of suffocating. The following is a walkthrough of what dreaming about a stuffed or full mouth can mean.
The mouth is a very important organ. It is the place where we consume food (and dispose of food if it is not good for us – i.e. vomit). Dreaming about food is often an image of psychological /mental energy (see this blog post about food in dreams), and the mouth can therefore be a symbol of how we consume and “digest” external experiences, for example an emotional one.
To keep pulling something out of the mouth (gum, food or something else) as an image of something that is somewhat uncomfortable which we should dispose/get rid of, or that we currently try to get rid of. You might dream that your mouth is full of a gum-like substance, and that you are constantly trying to pull all the gum out of your mouth, but there keep being something left, and it is like there is no point in trying to pull it out.
This could symbolize that you have “swallowed”/experienced something unpleasant in your life that you are unconsciously trying to dispose of in your dream. However, because you are not actively doing something about it in your actual life, your subconscious will be filled up by “gum” – that is, the experience or the thoughts that you are ignoring. You might even find that the thoughts or experiences you have “swallowed” have turned into something that is suffocating you because you are not getting rid of it (i.e. talking to someone about it).
The elements that suffocate you could also be potential lies you have been “fed” as a child, and these can be difficult to get rid of. Maybe the dream thus invites you to look at the “truths” you have in life (your beliefs, and where they come from). Again, the dream might say; you need to deal with this –perhaps you need to talk to somebody about it. See also dreams of strangulation/suffocation.
Full or blocked mouth as a symbol of not being heard. You can also dream that your mouth is in some way blocked, and that you therefore are prevented from speaking (for example with duct tape, or something else that prevents you from being able to talk). It may simply be a symbol of a general feeling of not being heard or seen, or maybe you have a hard time saying no in certain situations? What kind of a mental duct tape have you put on your mouth? Is it you or someone else who has put it there? You are the only one who can remove it.
A final alternative interpretation is that your subconscious is trying to tell you that you’ve said enough, and that you need to be quiet.

NOTE: Dream interpretation / analysis is not always an easy sport, and the best way to know whether you have come up with a meaningful interpretation is that you really feel – deep in your stomach – that this is right for you in your life right now.
Hi! My name is lindsey i am 23 years old. i have been having very vivid dreams more frequent than all of my peers i have discussed with just to them having no similarities. the last 3 nights i have experienced lucid dreaming without trying, yet completely aware of my dreams and am able to take complete control consciously. To the point where i am showing my boyfriend in real life of 7 years, how to do it and that it is real (in the dream). i have had maybe 6 dreams of rocks filling up in my mouth no matter how much i remove them, as well as gum. Also about 10 of me taking my teeth out and it being almost satisfying. Most of the dreams i have occur in the house i lived in the first 13 years of my life in a small town called cherokee kansas. my parents divorced at 14. I also have quite a few about the end of the world, watching the beginning of the end of the world through explosion out a window, or nazi like soldiers kicking doors down and trying to hide. I believe i become so good at lucid dreaming is because i have experienced more than most in my dreams more frequently. I have had dreams also of being almost raped or actually raped and its very terrifying to experience that feeling in a dream to wake up and be like wtf? Ive had dreams where i could remember about 3 months of the dream when i woke up from it and started crying hard to my boyfriend because i remembered a different part of our life that didn’t exist. I have never told anyone online because i don’t know who to speak to. But its getting intense. any sight, or idea what may be causing this?
thanks in advance maybe,
Lindsey
I experienced something rather unsettling in a dream i had about two days ago. I was trying to open my mouth wide enough to fit a white ball that i could only compare to a jawbreaker into my mouth. No one was pushing the jawbreaker into my mouth and i wasn’t pushing into my mouth either. I just know i kept trying to open my mouth wider to fit the jaw breaker. I did get the jawbreaker to fit but it’s size made it very uncomfortable because i could not move mouth at all and felt stuck. Yet, I had a weird urge to close my mouth tighter on the jawbreaker, so i did and i heard a loud snap from the back of my jaw. I panicked and somehow managed to quicky open my mouth wide enough for the jaw breaker to slip out. I then closed my mouth and did nothing as i was in a state of worry and confusion seeing as that i wasn’t bleeding from anywhere but felt that something bad definitely happened.

I have had such dream where I keep pulling out something that seems not to end from my mouth, but in reality am the type that talks, and most times when I talk it causes a lot of problem. Whenever I feel maltreated I talk it as it is outrightly.
Dear Eunice,
I am sorry to inform you that I currently don’t help out here, as I am focusing fully on the completion of my next book. You can try asking this one major question with regards to the dream; how might this dream in any way be relevant for my waking life? I can offer to help you in a private session (with payment), please see more here. Best regards – Michael
