Dreams about weddings – what do they mean? (Dream interpretation wedding, wedding ceremony, marriage, proposal, being proposed to)
Dream interpretation wedding (ceremony, marriage, proposal). If you are being proposed to in a dream or if you are getting married in a dream, it may symbolize a few things. Firstly, it might symbolize a wish of yours – especially if the person proposing to you or the person you are getting married to is someone you would like to form a more profound relationship with in real life. However, there are more and less obvious interpretations of wedding/proposal dreams.
Proposal/wedding as a test of commitment. Being proposed to in a dream might be an image of something from the outside testing your commitment. This might be another person, a potential employer, or a project you are thinking about getting involved in. How much do you actually want this job/project? Your reaction in the dream will reveal how you really feel about what the proposer/groom/bride represents. The same is true for an actual wedding; what are you feeling during the ceremony? Do you seem interested at all? Are you hesitating or are you thrilled and happy? These emotions work as a guide to what you really think about the commitment in your awake life that you have either accepted or are about to decide upon.

A union of inner aspects/opposites. A wedding in a dream may also symbolize that aspects of yourself are coming together or coming to an agreement of sorts. It may be that you are finally able to come to terms with your inner critic or your inner materialist (or perhaps the opposite, the part of you seeking meaning in things). You might also be uniting with your inner police man, or your inner artist, musician or singer.
From a traditional Jungian perspective, the ceremony could be a symbol of the union with the part of you that represents the opposite sex (if you are a man, your feminine side, and if you are a woman, your masculine side). This is especially true if you are marrying a person that you either don’t know or an acquaintance you don’t really know anymore.
Dream dictionaries are a very helpful tool when interpreting dreams. However, generally learning how to approach your dreams, will give you a better foundation for understanding them. I had a dream literally just a couple of minutes ago!
I was at the beach with a couple of friends and what looked like my boyfriend, I was just doing something and then when I turned around my boyfriend was on one knee!! Of course I cried and I said yes and I was soooo happy! Then the theme switched and I was at the mall and I saw I friend and I was like omg girl I’m engaged and I was so excited! And I was posting and it on insta and stuff! Then the theme switched again and I was with my family and two of my younger brothers were there and one said “marriage looks good on you” and the other said “I’m so happy for you” of course I was in awe and so happy again! Then the theme switched again and me and my fiancé were in a interesting house where you would have to go outside to go the other building where the kitchen was but everything was pretty small, but I was very happy and giggle and stuff and then in my awake life I heard my boyfriend come inside the room and he laid down and shook me a little and was like baby I love you ❤️ 🥺 but if you could help me more understand what my dream could possibly be about that would be amazing! hi. i had a dream about this unknown family showed up right infront of my house and there is this old woman represents her son to propose on me and i said NO after look at her son cause he looked much older than i thought. but the woman was mad at me for rejecting her son. and there is this guy that i dont remember who he is but we are very close to each other, he might be my boyfriend or something so we always hang out and the old woman still want me to marry her son even though i have rejected him. me and the woman had an argument afterwards and all of a sudden i yelled at her by saying ‘rich family like yours are not my type’ or something like that. they looked rich though so yeah thats why i yelled at her like that :)))
Hi, I dream of my boyfriend and I finally going away but my family on a cruise. At one of the dinners, he surprised me and asked me if to married him. He also surprised me by having my 2 of closer friends In my wedding which the were the only 2 that had dresses and ready for my big day. So we got married which he did a good job. My vows was awesome, it make people laugh but made him cried. Then one of my friend popped a pregnancy test and I found out that was pregnant too. Not sure what my sisters were up to but everyone knew about the wedding but me. They finally got me cause it very hard to surprise me. Lol

I had a dream where I was walking with my cadet corps and then I saw my current boyfriend with his friends Sitting down in a restaurant (basically in reality he puts them before our relationship). I walk up to him and I say “what’s going on here?” He said “nothing really we’re just eating food” I said “well, I told you where I was going. But you didn’t tell me where you were going?” He started crying I said “I didn’t mean to make you cry but what’s going on?” He said “WE ARE PLANING HOW IM GOING TO PROPOSE TO YOU!!!” After that I just hugged him. My thought in the dream was , am not ready for marriage.
I am single and At the same time I am nervous to give my heart out to avoid a 💔 from men and I had my past experience.

Hi Peace – thank you for your comment and very interesting dream! Did you also read the blogpost above? A dream like that might also be about internal matters – i.e. how you need to connect with something inside yourself to make marriage / love relationships happen in real life. But again – I don’t know anything about you/your life situation other than what you write – wherefore it is hard to come up with something meaningful. Of course your own interpretation makes a lot of sense too – if you know for a fact that you are afraid to to have a new commitment because of previous pain – the dream would say that you need to work with this. Or the dream might say – you are not ready right now – and that is okay! But if you want a commitment in real life – you have (inner) work to do. Best regards – Michael

I had a dream last night that I was in a unfamiliar home, the kitchen specifically wherein I noticed a beautiful light fixture that was gas flame. Suddenly the flame grew higher and became erratic. As I walked closer to inspect I was levitate off the ground and the back of my shirt was being raised. I used both hands to hold my shirt I felt as if someone was holding my jaw clinches so tight I had difficulty speaking…. but said over and over I can’t speak. I could feel a familiar person attempting to pull me back down to the ground, in an attempt to help me. I woke up instantly scared to go back to sleep. Said Hail Mary a few dozen times. What could this mean?

I’m not sure what it meant or if it means anything at all. But, last night I had a dream about a proposal from my girlfriend. In the dream I was overjoyed and just happy. The crazy thing is, we’ve only been dating for a couple of months now but it feels like years.

Hi I normally don’t do this but this is kind of weird for me I normally have dreams about spiders in my bed but last night I had a dream about getting married to my ex I don’t know what it means he broke up with me 5 years ago when my little girl was 3 months old and just last night I had a dream about him marrying me in all three of us living together I am confused I don’t know what to do normally when my family has dreams sometimes it comes true and yeah I’m just wondering what it means
Hi Michelle – now I don’t know the exact characterics of your previous relationship 🙂 But the dream might also say how you have now found a balance /come to an inner agreement with your ex. The dream might however also be illustrating how “what you learned (unconsciously)” in that relationship is now very active in your life. I don’t normally have dreams. But I had a dream just day before yesterday where I went to a gathering, I can’t just explain that really, it looks as if is in the school. But there, I was prest, I called someone to please help me that I want to go to toilet. And the person showed me where I will do it. It was someone’s house, but at the back of the house. Look like bush though. I had a very big sheet. I asked the person what I can use to pack it, and the person gave me waterproof. I packed it with it. But the toilet was so plenty that when I was packing it, my hand touched it. And I saw a handsome guy looking at me smiling, but seriously, I was not moved by his smiles. I left there and waked up. I start praying that I don’t know what this dream means that God Almighty should change the dream for me let it be a very good dream to me. And yesterday again, I still had a dream where I rushed into a bush to toilet. And as I bend down to toilet, I was saying to myself that I hope snake will no bit me here. And one woman that was leaving close there saw me and was cursing me that it won’t be well with me that I had the got to mess there. And I waked up and got so worried about this dreams. Same toilet dream day before yesterday and yesterday too. And I started to pray and tell God to make this dream be a Miracle, Blessings and Wonderful dreams for me. After the prayers this morning, I did my house chores and I was not happy about the dream at all. But I said to myself that I know that there is nothing Almighty God can not do. After taken my bath, I said to myself, can’t I check the meaning on line. That is how I find this. Please I need answers to the dreams Sir.
