Dreams about fire – what do they mean? (dream interpretation fire, burning)
Dream interpretation fire. Dreaming about fire or flames is often a symbol of strong feelings or passion, and it is crucial to pay attention to where the fire is and what exactly is on fire and even how intense the fire is. It can be hard to interpret dreams about fire because they are often ambiguous: if you dream that your childhood home is on fire, it can be a symbol of the emotional chaos you may currently be experiencing because of childhood events. However, it can also be a symbol of saying goodbye to your childhood home and what it represents.
Fire as an image of strong feeling/passion. Fierce fires or large bonfires in your dreams may symbolize the exact same thing in you – that you are filled with intense conflicts or strong feelings or emotions (anger or maybe love?). “Burning love” (as in a very intense love relationship) is a common phrase – an image of fire symbolizing strong feelings (both positive and negative). Internal fires might then symbolize an internal conflict that you do not know how to handle or that you are actually handling right now. A forest fire that might be spreading quickly could be an image of out of control emotions (depending on what is actually happening in the dream). If your hair is on fire, it could symbolize strong feelings occurring because of your thoughts (in your head).

When trying to understand your dreams it is important to know that your dreams are… your dreams. As such, you are the best person to figure out the true meaning of your dreams.
However, it is important to learn how to generally approach your dreams. Dream dictionaries like this one are only a supplement, and if you want to fully utilize the potential of your dreams, you should start at a different place.
My online course “Unlock your DREAMlife” gives you a great foundation for understanding (and recalling) your dreams.

Fire as an image of transformation/making peace with the past. In the same way that fire might symbolize severe and often destructive feelings, fire can also be a positive image of an attempt to make peace with – or a cleansing of – negative experiences. For example, if your childhood home is burning, it might mean that you are finally making peace with your childhood or maybe getting rid of childish behavior. Or if you are in a massive sea of flames and in a huge amount of pain, or maybe not even affected by the flames or heat, it might symbolize an inner “cleansing process” in which you are saying goodbye to an old or outdated way of thinking and behaving (also see Death). In this way, you are preparing for a new and improved version of yourself.
Dream dictionaries are a very helpful tool when interpreting dreams. However, generally learning how to approach your dreams, will give you a better foundation for understanding them. My online course “Unlock your DREAMlife” teaches you how to much better utilize – recall and understand – your dreams.

NOTE: Dream interpretation is not always easy, and it is important to note that your dream is your own. When you dream about fire, it probably does not mean the same for you as for others who also dreamed about fire. And your dream might mean something completely different than the above mentioned interpretations.
Last night I dreamt that I was with some children who were lighting and earth oven. As they were funding the fire its intensity increased and the earth (soil, or ground)it self caught the fire and started burning with high intensity. the fire grew wild with big flames and the children started to pour soil in order to quench it, instead it worsened, I then cold on the children to look for water instead. that way I woke up.
I dream the whole world was on fire. There were dead bodies everywhere burning. As I walk through the flames I was not being hurt in anyway. It was like I was being protected by someone. But no matter where I went there was nobody left on the earth alive. So I really don’t know what that means.
Last night I dreamed of a large forest fire. I mean huge. It was only a few of us left. I would look over the hills and see the flames taking over the hills. I would then move forward to safer ground. After a while I would keep turning around to check on the fire and it would get closer and closer to me. Then I don’t remember the rest
My dream was that I was outside looking straight up at a tree with firecrackers on it. One of the firecracker caught on fire by the sun and the ree started to burn. Then the flames quickly spread to the other trees and bushes around it. I could not move to stop it.
I dreamt last night that a fire started at home and before long i was standing outside watching the flames engulf the house. i was unharmed. Then scene changes and it seemed there was a fire at my sisters house. Her husband was in front of the tv and it exploded and her son was gathering his stuff to salvage and he wanted to get out
I had a dream we were driving somewhere which takes like an hour to get to and there was a tree falling and forest on fire beside the road
And then cars were crashing and spinning
And the car I was in was spinning in circles a lot
And I seen this huge big work truck spinning and we just missed the huge cliff that goes down the side
It literally scared me
I dreamed a fire started underneath a house I was in . I got out of the house but the fire started spreading everywhere as I ran but the flams were blue. I called my friend while running . My friend and I are no longer friends
Last night I dreamt that I was sitting under shaded area on the porch, on a hot sunny day. I some how managed to use the sun’s reflection on the floor of the porch to conjure fire from it and set the house on fire. My children and I were rescued through a window by an acquaintance who works in the neighborhood.
Any idea what this dream could mean?
Thank you for responding.

Hi Joann – what a terryfying dream! Did you also read the blogpost on cars (https://michaelrolsen.com/dreams-driving-car-mean-dream-interpretation-car/)? This might explain you dreaming about your car being on fire. Other than that it is almost impossible to me to come up with further ideas as to the meaning of your dream. Dreams should always be related to what is happening in your life right now (the waking life link as I call it), so you can ask youself this question; why am I having this dream right now? Despite it being “weird” – how could it be relevant for what is happening in my life (inner or outer) right now?
Best regards – Michael
